At the R.L. Jones Community Outreach Center we pass free food out to over 1000+ families on a weekly basis.  We have a food line every Thursday (beginning at 10am) in which the food we offer the Flint community is donated by some of our most active and consistent sponsors such as the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan and some of the well known grocery franchise companies such as Walmart and Kroger among others.  We also work closely with the Genesee CARD (Community Action Resource Department).  We try to provide as much as we can to as many as we can at any of our weekly events that include donated food.  Each family gets whatever foods we have and if they don’t want certain foods, they don’t have to take them.

Our food boxes/bags can include anything from canned foods, dairy goods, fruit, vegetables and anything that may be donated from one week to the next. We give one unit per family and offer up to 4 per vehicle. For most events everyone stays in there vehicle and our volunteers place the cases in their car for them.
